Job description

Day Coach (Residential Support Worker) - Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Home

Job Title: Coach (Residential Support Worker)
Location: Ninfield

About The Role:

We are seeking passionate and resilient Coaches (Residential Support Workers) to join our Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Homes in Ninfield.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who have experienced trauma, instability and adversity, helping them to build safe, stable and ambitious futures. As a Coach, you will play a vital role in creating a therapeutic, nurturing and structured environment where young people feel understood, supported and cared for.

You will work as part of a high performing team delivering child centred, trauma informed care that promotes emotional wellbeing, independence, life skills and positive outcomes.

Our home is a 4 bed children's residential home supporting young people aged 10 to 16 with profound Learning Disabilities and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and challenging behaviours. Some young people may be non-verbal or low verbal and use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or AAC devices. Our young people in this home benefit from calm, patient and consistent adults who are able to build trusting relationships and provide structured support. Adults must be able to remain emotionally resilient and responsive during periods of dysregulation, using calm and therapeutic approaches to support positive outcomes and maintain safety.

At SuperCare, we are committed to delivering only outstanding care. Our approach is progressive, therapeutic and grounded in understanding behaviour, relationships and development.

Our culture is shaped by our core values:

  • We are outstanding

  • We seek to understand

  • We will do whatever it takes

  • We inspect and don't expect

  • We are radically honest

  • We never give up

Key Responsibilities:

As a Coach you will:

  • Provide safe, consistent and therapeutic care to children and young people

  • Support the emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing of young people

  • Build positive, professional and consistent relationships while maintaining clear boundaries

  • Safeguard and promote welfare in line with legislation, Local Authority guidance and organisational policies

  • Deliver care in line with therapeutic models, PBS plans and individual care plans

  • Support young people to regulate emotions and develop appropriate behaviours

  • Promote independence, life skills and engagement in education and routines

  • Contribute to meaningful activities, trips and experiences for young people

  • Work collaboratively as part of a high performing residential team

  • Maintain accurate records, daily logs and incident reports

  • Contribute to handovers, team meetings and reflective practice

  • Support the maintenance of a safe, clean and homely environment

  • Administer medication in line with training and policy

  • Work flexibly across different homes within the service where required

About You:

We are looking for compassionate, resilient and emotionally intelligent individuals who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. You will have:

  • Experience working with children and young people (preferred)

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills

  • Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • The ability to work within professional boundaries

  • A trauma informed and child centred approach

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred) or willingness to complete

  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary package

  • Extensive training and development opportunities

  • Fully funded Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications

  • Performance related bonus scheme

  • Private healthcare

  • 24/7 GP access

  • Gym membership contribution

  • Extensive training and CPD opportunities

  • Leadership mentoring and internal progression pathways
