Job description

Position: Maths Teacher Location: Brighton Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Mathematics Teaching Role in an Independent School An independent school in Brighton is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that values academic excellence, creativity in teaching, and strong student relationships. Mathematics is a core subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop confidence in reasoning, problem-solving, and advanced mathematical thinking. About the Role You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that cover number, algebra, geometry, statistics, mechanics, and further mathematical concepts. Students will be prepared for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations through structured teaching, targeted support, and regular assessment. You will support learners in developing independence, analytical thinking, and resilience within a positive and academically focused environment. You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and curriculum delivery. Key Responsibilities Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver lessons covering core and advanced mathematical concepts Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations Assess student work and provide detailed feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development Support intervention, extension, and enrichment activities Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons The School Environment This independent school in Brighton provides a structured and academically ambitious environment with smaller class sizes and highly engaged students. Candidate Requirements The school is seeking a teacher who can deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons and support student achievement across multiple key stages.
