The Opportunity of a Family Safeguarding Recovery Practitioner\n
\nService Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a respected and well-established charity organisation delivering specialist substance misuse and family support services across the community. The organisation is committed to safeguarding children, supporting families and improving recovery outcomes through compassionate, person-centred interventions.\n
\n
\nWe are seeking an experienced Family Safeguarding Recovery Practitioner to support parents and carers affected by drug and alcohol misuse, with a focus on minimising the impact on children and promoting safer family environments. The successful candidate will work closely with safeguarding teams, children’s services and multi-agency partners to provide tailored interventions and recovery-focused support to families with complex needs.\n

\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner with experience in substance misuse, safeguarding and family support services who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families.\n

Key Responsibilities of a Family Safeguarding Recovery Practitioner:\n
\n
    \n
  • Managing a caseload of parents and carers affected by substance misuse
  • \n
  • Completing comprehensive assessments, care plans and risk assessments
  • \n
  • Delivering one-to-one psychosocial and recovery-focused interventions
  • \n
  • Supporting families involved with Children’s Social Care and safeguarding services
  • \n
  • Attending child protection conferences, core groups and multi-agency meetings
  • \n
  • Completing joint home visits with partner agencies where required
  • \n
  • Delivering harm reduction advice, BBV awareness and overdose prevention interventions
  • \n
  • Supporting engagement into treatment and ongoing recovery services
  • \n
  • Developing and facilitating family support and group work opportunities
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case management records in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
  • \n
Essential Requirements as a Family Safeguarding Recovery Practitioner:\n
\n
    \n
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within substance misuse or family support services
  • \n
  • Experience working with children, parents and families affected by substance misuse
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • \n
  • Experience completing assessments, support plans and risk management plans
  • \n
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and recovery-focused approaches
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, report writing and partnership working skills
  • \n
  • Good IT skills including use of case management systems
  • \n
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • \n
  • Enhanced Child & Adult DBS (within 12 months or registered on Update Service)
  • \n
  • Valid Right to Work documentation
  • \n
  • Satisfactory employment references
  • \n
  • Access to a vehicle with valid UK Driving license and willingness to travel
  • \n
