A welcoming and inclusive specialist provision in Devizes is searching for a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its permanent support team.
The setting caters for pupils aged 11–16 with Education, Health and Care Plans and provides tailored education for learners with Autism, SEMH needs, attachment difficulties and communication barriers.
Staff are committed to supporting the whole child academically, socially and emotionally, ensuring every learner develops confidence, independence and essential life skills.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
The successful candidate may provide one-to-one support, assist within small group activities or work across different curriculum areas depending on pupil needs.
You will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to education by building positive relationships and creating a safe, encouraging environment where learners feel motivated to succeed.
Your Responsibilities
• Support pupils within lessons, interventions and enrichment activities
• Adapt resources and learning tasks to meet individual needs
• Encourage communication, literacy and numeracy development
• Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
• Promote independence, resilience and self-esteem
• Support pupils with physical or medical needs where required
• Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND professionals
• Help maintain positive routines and classroom structure
• Supervise educational visits, activities and social times
• Contribute towards Behaviour Support Plans and EHCP outcomes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
