Job Purpose
To assist in the external audit program for the UK & Irish statutory accounts, including preparation of legal entity accounts & liaising with external audit, external tax consultants and site accountants to ensure the audits run smoothly and accounts are submitted to time.
Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
• To prepare the UK and Irish statutory accounts in relevant under FRS to a high standard ready for external audit review
• To act as a contact between the external audit team and the site financial controllers to ensure that the audit process runs smoothly and to mandatory deadlines
• To co-ordinate the annual timetable of audits engaging with internal teams and external auditors and monitoring on time adherence
• Liaise with external tax consultants and the site financial team to ensure that the corporation tax returns are submitted on time
• Work with the Statutory Lead Accountant to submit ad hoc returns such as PSA returns and ONS reports
• To assist in the preparation of the Monthly Management information for a number of holding companies
• To perform ad hoc financial and accounting analysis as required
• To work closely with Statutory Lead Accountant to maintain consistent standards and controls in regards to financial reporting
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Suit part qualified accounting in practice looking for a first step into Corporate/Manufacturing accounting
• Experienced in preparing medium sized company accounts and consolidated accounts
• Good knowledge and experience of all areas of the Statutory Audit process
• Confident in building relationships with regional finance managers
• Capable of working within a team and communicating effectively to achieve deadlines
• IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel and accounting software (Caseware is a bonus)
- Part Qualified ACA or ACCA with audit experience
