Job description

Little learners need inspiring leaders.

Protocol Education is working with a warm, well-established nursery in BA1 that is looking to welcome a dedicated Room Leader to the team after half term.

This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. You'll lead a team of practitioners, support children's development through meaningful play, and help build the strong foundations that shape their future.

If you're passionate about early years education and ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Room Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring children receive the highest standard of care and education every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a nursery room and supporting a team of Early Years practitioners
  • Planning and delivering engaging, child-led learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
  • Monitoring children's development and celebrating their progress
  • Creating exciting opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration
  • Building positive partnerships with parents and carers
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, welfare, and wellbeing
  • Creating an organised, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Modelling best practice and supporting the professional development of your team

You'll help create a positive culture where children, families, and staff feel valued and supported.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
  • Has experience working within a nursery or early years setting
  • Is confident leading, motivating, and supporting a team
  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Builds positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Is organised, proactive, and passionate about delivering high-quality early years provision
  • Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine love of helping children thrive

A good sense of humour and a willingness to embrace messy play are always a bonus!

Why Work with Protocol Education?

✅ Dedicated consultant support from someone who understands the local early years sector

✅ Ongoing guidance throughout your placement

✅ Access to free CPD opportunities, including Thrive training

✅ Opportunities with trusted nurseries in your local area

✅ A consultative approach focused on finding the right long-term fit

✅ £250 Refer-a-Friend bonus

At Protocol Education, we know that the right environment makes all the difference. That's why we take the time to match great practitioners with settings where they can flourish.

What We Need to Clear You

To get you registered and ready for work, we'll need:

  • Passport or proof of right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment and/or education, with any gaps explained
  • References covering the last two years, including recent early years or childcare experience
  • An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more within the last five years

Ready to Take the Lead?

If you're looking for an opportunity to shape young minds, develop your leadership skills, and make a lasting impact in early years education, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today to join a welcoming nursery in BA1 and take the next step in your early years career.

Not Thrive trained yet? No problem. We offer free Thrive training to help strengthen your practice, support children's emotional development, and help you stand out as a leader in early years settings.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
