Job description
Position: Caretaker Location: Sheffield Contract: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Caretaker Role in a Secondary School Setting A secondary school in Sheffield is seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join its site team as soon as possible. This is a full-time role within a school that values a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school site. About the Role You will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the school premises, carrying out general maintenance tasks, site checks, and basic repairs where required. The role includes opening and locking the site, monitoring health and safety, and ensuring that classrooms and communal areas remain safe and well-presented. You will work closely with the site management team and respond to maintenance issues efficiently and professionally. Key Responsibilities Open and secure the school site each day Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs Monitor the cleanliness and safety of the premises Conduct routine health and safety checks Support contractors and external visitors on site Assist with room setups for school events and activities Report maintenance issues and hazards promptly Ensure outdoor areas are maintained appropriately The School Environment This secondary school in Sheffield provides a structured and supportive working environment with clear expectations for all staff.
