Job description
Position: Economics Teacher Location: Sheffield Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS5 Economics Teaching Role in a Sixth Form Setting A sixth form college in Sheffield is seeking to appoint an Economics Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a post-16 environment that focuses on academic achievement and progression to higher education. Economics is a popular subject within the college, with students studying both microeconomics and macroeconomics through a structured A-Level curriculum. About the Role You will teach Economics at Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that develop students’ understanding of economic theory, data interpretation, and analytical writing. Students will explore topics such as markets, inflation, fiscal policy, global economics, and economic decision-making, preparing them for A-Level examinations and further study. You will support students in developing independent learning skills and strong examination technique. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery and assessment. Key Responsibilities Teach A-Level Economics to KS5 students Deliver lessons covering microeconomics and macroeconomics Prepare students for A-Level Economics examinations Assess student work and provide detailed feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources Support independent learning and academic development Promote engagement and participation in lessons The College Environment This sixth form college in Sheffield provides a focused and academically driven environment with high expectations for student achievement. Students are motivated and preparing for progression into higher education and related fields. Staff work collaboratively to deliver a consistent and engaging curriculum, supported by structured schemes of work and shared resources. Candidate Requirements The college is seeking a teacher with strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging Economics lessons at A-Level.
