Job description
A knowledgeable and engaging Business specialist is required to join a distinguished independent school in Watford from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an academic practitioner who maintains high expectations and is passionate about stretching students to achieve their full potential through rigorous enquiry and high-quality instruction. Business is a highly popular and successful subject within the school, characterized by a curriculum that encourages entrepreneurial thinking, economic awareness, and academic depth across all key stages. The Role Teaching Business Studies across KS4 and KS5, with the ability to deliver A-Level and/or BTEC National Level 3 for candidates with relevant experience. Planning and delivering intellectually stimulating lessons that challenge high-attaining pupils and foster a genuine interest in commerce and economics. Contributing to a rich co-curricular program, including leading Young Enterprise teams, investment clubs, and external business competitions. Utilizing modern case studies and digital tools to enhance curriculum delivery and student research capabilities. Assessing student progress with precision and providing detailed feedback to support high academic attainment at GCSE and A-Level. Working collaboratively within a high-performing department that values academic innovation and professional scholarship. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching in the independent sector. A strong honors degree in Business, Economics, or a closely related discipline from a reputable university. Proven success in delivering excellent results at GCSE and A-Level. A professional, organized approach and a commitment to participating fully in the life of the school community. Proficiency in modern digital learning platforms to support interactive and practical learning. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire a love of learning in motivated students.
