Job description
Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive! At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! We’re looking for a Children, Young People and Family Healthy Lifestyle Coach (bank contract) to join our Thriving Nottingham service. Thriving Nottingham offers support in weight management, smoking cessation, physical activity and health coaching. The main aspect of this role involves delivery the Gloji Energy programme that supports children and their families to lead healthy lifestyles. The programme provides eligible Nottingham families a fun and engaging programme, that encourages them to eat healthier, increase their physical activity levels, as well as improving their sleep and wellbeing. The holistic programme combines both one to one appointments and weekly group sessions for children aged 5 to 17years old, and their families. There is also scope to support teenagers on a 121 basis, supporting them to make positive healthy lifestyle changes in a way that works for them and to get involved in our schools programme. Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths. Your time as a Children, Young People and Family Healthy Lifestyle Coach might include: Delivering a planned child and family weight management and healthy lifestyle programme to eligible Nottingham families, focusing on behaviour change, to help families make changes to nutrition, movement, mind and sleep. Motivate, inspire and support children, young people, and parents/carers to adopt a healthier lifestyle, through a professional, knowledgeable and empathetic approach. Be able to relate and communicate to both children, young people and their parents/carers, handling sensitive conversations in a professional manner. Deliver, or support the delivery, of fun and engaging physical activity with children and young people. Provide one to one support to children, young people and families where this is identified as appropriate. Accurately record and monitor data in a timely manner using basic IT skills. Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources! Ensuring due consideration is given to our Safeguarding, Information Governance and Clinical Governance policies and procedures. To ensure safer recruitment and safeguarding for all we adopt pre-employment processes, including DBS checks. Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values! About you... More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart in to their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you too! Be the change You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive. Be effective You’re patient and can adapt under pressure. Always happy to make time for other people. And have a great attitude. Be happy You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor). Be successful You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets. And will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career. Be big-hearted You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, we want the same thing to do meaningful work and change lives. What are we looking for? To work with us in this role you will need to have experience of supporting individuals, ideally children or young people, to make healthy lifestyle choices through nutrition, physical activity or health coaching. Knowledge and understanding of healthy lifestyles is essential. A nutrition qualification or physical activity/coaching qualification would be desirable. However, we hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job, we would love to hear from you! Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for someone who is seeking a varied and flexible working pattern. Perks... Every person makes Thrive Tribe the incredible place it is to work and play together, we’re unstoppable. Within our buzzing environment our talented people work hard but we ensure lots of fun is thrown in too! We offer you; Flexible working – we’re serious about life/work balance! Access to Mental Health First Aid training , and other training courses. Tailored health and wellbeing support. Contract: Zero hours contract, Permanent Working Pattern: This role involves delivering group programmes to children, young people and their families, after school and / or at the weekends. Group delivery times typically would range from 15:30 to 19:00 on a weekday or Saturday / Sunday mornings. Ordinarily we would expect you to commit to delivering a group for 12-weeks (on the same day and time for that period), with a small amount of admin work per week. There would also be the opportunity to work additional hours through completing the 1-to-1 phone calls at various points in the programme, or delivering our schools programme. Moreover, there would also be the chance of further hours through annual leave and sickness cover. Salary: Group delivery is paid at £18-£20 per hour depending on experience and admin tasks are paid at £14.24 per hour. Closing Date: 18th May 2026 Applicants will be contacted to outline the next stages of the process. Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 25th May.
