We are seeking a creative and technically adept Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join a 'Good' secondary school . Core Responsibilities Instructional Excellence: Teaching Design and Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with opportunities to contribute to A-Level or BTEC Tech Awards for suitably qualified candidates. Technical Mastery: Guiding students through the properties of materials (timbers, polymers, and metals) and the application of electronic systems and programmable components. Design Innovation: Leading students through the design process—from initial sketching and 2D/3D modelling to the final evaluation of a functioning product. Workshop Safety: Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety, ensuring all students are proficient and safe in the use of hand tools and heavy machinery. Sustainability Advocacy: Integrating themes of the circular economy, responsible sourcing, and "design for life" into the curriculum to reflect modern environmental challenges. The Successful Candidate We are looking for a practitioner who is as comfortable with a chisel as they are with a digital design suite. Requirements include: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Design and Technology, Product Design, or a related Engineering field. Technical Breadth: Proficiency in a range of material areas and strong skills in CAD software (such as 2D Design, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks).
