Job description
Position: Attendance Officer Location: Dartford Contract: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Attendance Officer Role in a Secondary School A secondary school in Dartford is seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to join its pastoral and administrative team as soon as possible. This is a full-time role within a school that places strong emphasis on attendance, safeguarding, and student wellbeing. Attendance is a key priority, with systems in place to monitor student engagement and support improved outcomes. About the Role You will be responsible for monitoring daily attendance, following up on absences, and supporting strategies to improve overall attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with pastoral staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure that attendance concerns are addressed effectively and in line with safeguarding procedures. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Monitor and record daily student attendance Follow up on absences and lateness Contact parents and carers regarding attendance issues Work with pastoral teams to improve attendance rates Maintain accurate attendance records and data Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns Support reporting for senior leadership Liaise with external agencies where required The School Environment This secondary school in Dartford provides a structured and supportive environment with clear expectations for behaviour and attendance.
