Job description
Position: Science Technician Location: Chesterfield Contract: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP Science Technician Role in a Secondary School Setting A secondary school in Chesterfield is seeking to appoint a Science Technician to support its Science department as soon as possible. This is a full-time role within a school that values practical science and provides a structured environment for both staff and students. The Science department delivers lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a strong focus on practical experiments to support student understanding. About the Role You will support the preparation and delivery of practical science lessons, ensuring that all equipment and materials are ready for use. You will work closely with teaching staff to facilitate experiments and ensure lessons run efficiently. The role includes maintaining laboratory equipment, organising resources, and ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed. You will also assist with stock control and ordering of laboratory supplies. Key Responsibilities Prepare equipment and materials for practical lessons Support teachers during laboratory sessions where required Maintain and clean laboratory equipment Ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals and materials Manage stock levels and order supplies Maintain organised and safe laboratory environments Support health and safety procedures across the department Assist with general departmental organisation The School Environment This secondary school in Chesterfield provides a structured and supportive working environment with clear expectations for staff and students.
