Job description
Position: Science Teacher Location: Northampton Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Science Teaching Role in a Faith School Setting A faith secondary school in Northampton is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that combines strong academic expectations with a supportive and values-driven environment. The Science department delivers a broad curriculum across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a strong focus on practical learning and student progress. About the Role You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that develop students’ understanding of scientific concepts and investigative skills. The role includes both theoretical teaching and practical laboratory work, helping students build confidence in experimentation, analysis, and scientific reasoning. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in developing subject knowledge and exam technique. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery and assessment. Key Responsibilities Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver lessons covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations Assess student work and provide structured feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Maintain safe laboratory environments Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources The School Environment This faith secondary school in Northampton provides a structured and supportive environment with clear expectations for both staff and students.
