Job description
Deliver training and assessment that builds safe, competent operational teams As our Trainer Assessor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring Cadent's operational colleagues and contractors have the skills, knowledge and competence required to work safely and effectively. This role is about far more than classroom delivery - it's about providing high quality technical training, robust assessment and professional judgement that underpins safe network operations. Working within the HRPS Learning Delivery team, you'll deliver and assess a wide range of technical and operational training across Cadent's networks and Skills Development Centres. You'll support the full employee learning cycle, ensuring mandatory skills and competency requirements are met while maintaining high standards of assurance, consistency and compliance. This role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct, visible impact on safety, capability and performance across the business. Why you'll love this role: * Technical Training Delivery - Deliver practical, technical and operational training courses to Cadent colleagues and contractors. * Assessment & Assurance - Undertake workplace and centre based assessments, making robust judgements on competence. * Coaching & Feedback - Provide clear feedback, mentoring and development support to candidates. * Learning Environment Support - Maintain safe, effective training environments including facilities, tools and equipment. * Quality & Compliance - Ensure training and assessment activity meets relevant policies, standards and statutory requirements. * Digital & Modern Learning - Use digital platforms and blended learning approaches to enhance delivery and flexibility. * Continuous Improvement - Contribute to training product development, updates and innovative learning solutions. What you'll bring: * Technical Expertise - Specialist operational knowledge in one or more areas (e.g. Emergency, Repair, Connections, PC&S, E&I, Pipelines, PT&E). * Training & Assessment Experience - Experience delivering training, conducting assessments and building assessment portfolios. * Assessment Qualifications - D32/33 or A1 (NVQ Level 4) and/or a recognised teaching qualification (Level 3). * Strong Communication Skills - Confident presenter with excellent written and verbal communication ability. * Judgement & Decision Making - Confidence making competency decisions and managing assessment outcomes. * Safety First Mindset - Strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, codes of practice and statutory requirements. * Organisation & Flexibility - Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple training and assessment demands.
