Job descriptionRole You will join a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to four individuals who have learning disabilities and other complex support needs, including physical disabilities. The people we support enjoy a variety of activities such as new experiences, holidays, cooking, socialising and meeting new friends, and they may attend concerts, sing along to Abba, and dine out. As a Support Practitioner you will play a crucial role in supporting these individuals in all aspects of daily living. You will take an active role in the planning and delivery of person‑centred care and encourage the people we support to express their views and wishes. Our aim is to enable those we care for to live a fulfilling and valued life, achieving their personal goals and aspirations. About You We recruit on values and transferable skills, so you do not need previous experience as a Support Worker or formal qualifications to start your career with us. Our Training Academy will provide you with the skills you need, and we will fund your SVQ/SCQF qualifications and your yearly SSSC fee. * Great communication skills. * Able to think outside the box. * Caring attitude and approach. * Positive approach to learning. * Able to follow guidelines. * Confidence in the use of computers. * Star Awards – be the one who helps someone shine. Shift Patterns Our team provides tailored 2:1 support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shifts are formed by early shifts, back shifts, sleepovers, waking nights, weekends, and public holidays on a rotational basis. Early shifts start at 8 am, back shifts finish at 10 pm, waking nights run from 10 pm to 8 am, and sleepovers run from 10 am to 10 pm. Requirements * Successful candidates will join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working toward an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. * Those who have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18 will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government or police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks. * You will register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment with us. * You will meet the requirements of the person we support's insurance policy for use of their mobility car. Successful candidates will also receive training from our Academy to support their professional development in social services and healthcare.
