A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a committed Behaviour Support professional to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students build confidence, improve behaviour and engage positively with their education.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support member of staff, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing guidance and encouragement both in and out of the classroom. You will support pupils during lessons, help manage behaviour positively, assist with lesson transitions, and work alongside teaching and pastoral teams to remove barriers to learning. Every day brings the opportunity to help young people develop resilience and achieve their potential.

About the School:

This inclusive secondary school is dedicated to creating a supportive and respectful learning environment where every student is encouraged to succeed. Staff work collaboratively to maintain high expectations, provide strong pastoral support, and ensure pupils feel valued throughout their educational journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide behaviour support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement during lessons.

  • Support students during lesson transitions and throughout the school day.

  • Build positive relationships with individual pupils and small groups.

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies.

  • Monitor student progress and share relevant observations with colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour management.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

  • A genuine passion for supporting adolescents to succeed.

  • Experience within education, youth work or behaviour support is advantageous.

If you are ready to make a positive difference and are interested in this opportunity, submit your CV today.

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support (Secondary), you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
