Registered Manager – Family Assessment (Walsall) Walsall Wood, United Kingdom | Posted on 14/04/2026 Key Responsibilities * Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Family Assessment Centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and compliant environment for families and staff. * Assess and support parents to promote the safety, wellbeing, and development of their children. * Safeguard children and parents through effective assessment, care planning, regular reviews, and risk management. * Support, mentor, and guide parents in developing essential parenting skills and building confidence in their abilities. * Work collaboratively with families to help them achieve positive outcomes and long-term stability. * Provide practical advice, emotional support, and guidance tailored to each family’s individual needs. * Thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding to challenges with resilience, adaptability, and a solution-focused approach. * Lead, motivate, and inspire the staff team, creating a positive culture focused on high‑quality care and continuous improvement. * Provide leadership and direction during shifts, ensuring consistent standards and effective team collaboration. * Mentor and support new or less experienced staff, encouraging confidence and professional development. * Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development, identifying opportunities for growth and learning. * Deliver effective supervision, probation support, and performance management to ensure staff feel supported and empowered. * Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to exceptional care and ethical practice. * Ensure staffing rotas are effectively managed to maintain safe staffing levels and continuity of care. What You’ll Bring You will be a compassionate and confident leader who is passionate about supporting families and helping teams thrive. Our Ideal Candidate * Experience of working with Ofsted within a childrens or young persons residential environment (Essential) * Hold a Level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce Diploma (or equivalent). (Essential) * Either hold or be committed to completing their Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for health & social care children & young people services. * Have a minimum two years experience working in Family Assessment or a similar field. * Prioritise the safety and well‑being of children. * Nurturing and supportive, with strong mentoring skills. * Experienced in safeguarding and creating a stable environment. * Empathetic, understanding, and encouraging. * Have experience leading and motivating a staff team. * Self‑motivated and adaptable to a fast‑paced setting. * Able to apply transferable skills from relevant experience. * Strong communication skills with a high level of empathy. * Remains calm under pressure. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, effective relationships with children, parents, and professionals. * Someone who is committed to a career in supporting families.
