We work closely with central government, the Local Government Association (our part‑owners), and councils across the UK to build sector capacity, unlock housing delivery and boost economic growth. As we expand our portfolio, we’re seeking individuals who can turn national priorities into local impact. You may come from a technical background (property, housing, development) or a broader role within regeneration, public or private sector – we welcome both. What matters most is your ability to make things happen on the ground. We are currently recruiting for Assistant Directors with experience in housing and/or regeneration – particularly in relation to housing development and council housebuilding. Local Partnerships is a joint venture between the Local Government Association, Welsh Government and HM Treasury. We support public sector organisations to deliver high‑impact programmes in housing, infrastructure, regeneration, energy and more. Our work improves lives, strengthens communities and delivers long‑term value. Responsibilities * Supporting housing and regeneration projects usually as part of a team * Providing project direction, managing transitions across stages and applying appropriate methodologies * Producing strategic reports, business cases, and client‑ready outputs * Overseeing delivery phases, budgets, governance, and project transitions * Building trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders * Shaping future business development and contributing to our national impact * Working with Place‑based Senior Directors and Directors to ensure each project is delivered efficiently, effectively, on time and within budget Qualifications * 3+ years of project delivery experience in regeneration, housing or related sectors * A good understanding of public sector governance, legislation, and delivery environments * Well established project management skills, including risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement * Strong interpersonal and communication, report‑writing and problem‑solving capabilities * A good understanding of the UK planning and development process and its interaction with development viability and funding considerations * Experience working with or within local government, central government, or housing bodies * Self‑motivation with the ability to identify what requires doing and the enthusiasm to see tasks through * A collaborative mindset and ability to work across disciplines and partner organisations * Ability to work as part of a team with a flexible approach in order to adapt to changing working requirements We are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals with one or more of the following: * MRICS and/or MRTPI qualification, and those with proven experience in financial appraisal, development viability assessment and the ability to provide commercially focused advice to clients * Experience of council housebuilding and/or finance (HRA or non‑HRA), housing * Experience of housing asset management, repairs, housing health and safety Benefits We offer a competitive benefits package and a supportive work culture that values balance and wellbeing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
