Pay: £172.98 per day

The Role

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan for a long-term position from September.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a vibrant Year 6 classroom while delivering high-quality teaching that supports pupils' academic progress, personal development and wellbeing. You will create a stimulating and engaging learning environment where pupils are encouraged to become confident, independent learners as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Working closely with teaching assistants, the ALNCO and the wider school team, you'll support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed through well-planned, engaging lessons and targeted support.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge Year 6 pupils.

• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes excellent learning and behaviour.

• Differentiate teaching to meet the individual needs of all pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

• Prepare pupils for the end of Key Stage 2, supporting them to build confidence and resilience as they transition to secondary education.

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the ALNCO and wider school staff to provide effective support.

• Assess, monitor and track pupils' progress, using assessment outcomes to inform future planning and teaching.

• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to support academic achievement and personal development.

• Encourage pupils to develop independence, responsibility and a positive attitude towards learning.

• A qualified teacher.

• Confident in delivering an engaging and challenging curriculum that prepares pupils for secondary education.

• Committed to creating an inclusive classroom that supports pupils with a range of learning needs.

• Patient, enthusiastic and highly organised, with excellent communication and classroom management skills.

• Able to commit to a full-time, long-term role.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Current Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.

• An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

If you don't currently hold an Enhanced DBS or EWC registration, Teaching Personnel can support you through the application process (fees apply which will need to be covered by you).
