Domestic | Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 30 Hours per week Closing Date: 09/04/2026 About this job Job Overview: Domestic Assistant Riverside Centre: We are expanding our dedicated Domestic Services team across Greater Manchester and are seeking a caring, compassionate, and hardworking individual to join us. Location: Prestwich Hospital Position: X 1 Domestic Assistant Purpose of the Role: To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the hospital & office areas, ensuring compliance with infection control standards and supporting the well‑being of patients, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities * Perform cleaning duties in patient areas, staff rooms, offices, and communal spaces in line with hospital standards. * Regularly clean and disinfect surfaces, floors, and sanitary facilities. * Safely handle waste disposal in accordance with infection control and clinical waste protocols. * Replenish essential supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue. * Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly. * Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies when working in patient areas. * Comply with health and safety regulations, including correct use of PPE and COSHH guidelines. * Experience not essential as full training will be given. * Important Information: This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria under temporary exemptions introduced on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions apply to workers who have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously since before 04/04/2024. Benefits * Pay Enhancements – 30% additional for Evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays; 60% additional for Sundays and Bank holidays. * 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years. * Cycle to work scheme. * Salary sacrifice car scheme. * Blue Light Card Discounts.
