Deputy Ward Manager

You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients * Works as Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families and visitors. * Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicates requirements to the wider team. * Ensures that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met. * Respects and applies the requirements of diversity and inclusion, promoting and role modelling these across the team. * Identifies deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and acts to address these. Job responsibilities Priory Hospital Dewsbury is looking to recruit a Deputy Ward Manager to join the team on the Jubilee Ward. This is a full time position of 40 hours per week. Based in the residential area of Earlsheaton, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Dewsbury provides level 2 rehabilitation services divided into two wards. Care is for male patients who have mental health disorders and we also offer neuropsychiatry support, support for older people and dementia, community-focused rehabilitation, and support for severe and enduring mental health. Although Dewsbury is not a 24/7 acute hospital, we are well-placed to provide support to acute patients within our dementia services, for those who require an alternative setting to an acute psychiatric ward. Admissions can also take place due to other placement breakdowns (either from their home or other care environment), or from prison settings. Person Specification Qualification * Active Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, meeting the requirements of Revalidation (RMN qualified). Clinical Supervision experience essential, training desirable.
