Job description
Pay Rate: £27,037.09 per year Grade: RCS O Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time), 40 hours per week Shift patterns: Monday to Friday (includes working UK bank holidays). Monday to Thursday working hours are 08:00-17:00 (8am-5pm) and Friday's are 08:00-14:30 (8am-2:30pm) Location: HM Prison Stocken, near Oakham, LE15 7RD PLEASE NOTE: The role is based within a men category c prison. You will be required to undergo an enhanced security vetting process if you are to be successful for this position. Refer to Essential Criteria for more information. Think you know DHL? Think again! On a weekly basis, inmates have the opportunity to order basics goods, like shampoo and chocolate, that they pay for with their own funds. At DHL, we manage the picking, packing and distribution of these orders. We're now looking for a Warehouse Team Leader who will play an integral role in the prisoners' lives, working with a diverse team to support their rehabilitation. You'll need to be comfortable handling tough situations and speaking up when the rules aren't followed. Can you stay steady and focused around people who may challenge you? A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE * Promoting Health & Safety in the workplace, from safety conversations through to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). * Leading a group of prisoners in a warehouse environment, whilst also being hands on with picking and packing. * Reconciling stock levels within the warehouse operation (based on‑site at the prison). * Managing the delivery of accurate and timely dispatch of orders to the inmates. * Ensuring operational targets are met and exceeded. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA * You must have three recent years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance). * You must have right to work in the UK with no limits now or in the future. We cannot offer sponsorship for this opportunity. THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO * Are comfortable working in a secure prison environment, alongside inmates. * Can be confident speaking up and guiding prisoners when needed. This includes encouraging them to stay on task, follow rules and keep the space safe and moving. * Make the safety of everyone on shift a key focus. * Good at communicating firmly, fairly and clearly. * Have a good understanding of warehouse processes - but we will teach you the whole job!
