We are seeking a compassionate, energetic teaching assistant who wants to make a real difference to children’s learning and confidence to join Glebelands Primary School — a growing, community-focused primary on the edge of Leicester — where high aspirations, kindness and respect guide everything we do. About the role

We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to work in our Early Years and Key Stage 1 team to

•Support pupils’ learning and personal development under the direction of teachers, helping pupils to build independence, resilience and confidence.

• Work with individuals and small groups — including pupils with SEND and those learning English as an additional language — to enable full participation in lessons and activities.

• Liaise with teachers, parents/carers and other professionals to support pupils’ needs.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute positive ideas and best practice to the wider team.

The role requires a nurturing approach, professionalism and the ability to adapt activities and resources to meet pupils’ differing needs.

About you — the ideal candidate

You are someone who:

• Has experience working in Early Years with knowledge of Development Matters and the Early Learning Goals

• Shares our high expectations and belief that every pupil can progress and thrive.

• Is patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with pupils and families from diverse backgrounds.

• Communicates clearly and confidently (verbally and in writing) and can contribute to assessments and records.

• Has experience supporting children’s learning (classroom, small-group or 1:1) and is comfortable working with pupils with SEND and EAL.

• Is flexible, resourceful and willing to contribute to whole-school priorities such as phonics, oracy and improving writing.

• Is committed to professional development and working as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications and experience:

• Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to perform the role are required.

• Relevant TA qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3, TA awards) and experience working in primary settings are desirable. P

Contract

8:30am – 3:20pm Monday to Friday with 50 minutes lunch

30 hours per week Term Time only –

38 weeks per year + 4 INSET Days

Salary: £17,443.00 P.A
