\n

Salary: Starting salary £39,000-£40,500 with OTE up to £46,575

\n

\n

Join Medacs Healthcare as a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor

\n

If you're an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist considering a move away from hands‑on clinical care, this role offers a structured alternative where your clinical judgement remains central.

\n

Working as a PIP Functional Assessor, you'll evaluate how a person's health conditions impact their daily activities. This position focuses on professional assessment, evidence review and written clinical justification rather than treatment delivery. The hybrid model combines home working with attendance at an assessment centre, providing consistency, routine and improved work-life balance.

\n

\n

What you'll do

\n

  • Complete functional assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
\n

  • Conduct assessments via telephone or in person when required
\n

  • Review medical records and supporting evidence to inform decisions
\n

  • Apply clinical reasoning within defined assessment criteria
\n

  • Produce clear, accurate and well‑structured reports
\n

  • Maintain quality standards and compliance expectations
\n

  • Engage with training, audit feedback and professional development
\n

  • Attend an assessment centre in line with service requirements
\n

\n

What we're looking for

\n

\n

Essential

\n

  • Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
\n

  • Current professional registration with no restrictions
\n

  • At least 12 months' post‑registration clinical experience in the UK
\n

  • Strong written communication and attention to detail
\n

  • Comfortable working with digital systems and report‑based workflows
\n

  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
\n

\n

What's on offer

\n

  • Competitive starting salary with clear progression opportunities
\n

  • Performance‑related bonus and approval incentives
\n

  • Hybrid working arrangement
\n

  • Set working hours with no nights, weekends or bank holidays
\n

  • 25 days' annual leave plus your birthday off
\n

  • Professional registration fee reimbursement after probation
\n

  • Fully funded training programme and ongoing clinical support
\n

  • Defined career pathways and CPD access
\n

  • £2,500 employee referral bonus (terms apply)
\n

\n

You'll enjoy this role if you…

\n

  • Prefer consistency, structure and defined clinical processes
\n

  • Like analysing information and forming evidence‑based conclusions
\n

  • Are confident producing detailed written reports
\n

  • Value predictable working patterns and stability
\n

  • Are open to learning a new specialist clinical skillset
\n

\n

This role might not be right for you if you…

\n

  • Want to remain in fast‑paced, acute or hands‑on clinical environments
\n

  • Dislike structured frameworks or performance measures
\n

  • Find extensive report writing unappealing
\n

  • Prefer minimal computer‑based work
\n

  • Are uncomfortable retraining into a non‑traditional clinical role
\n

\n

\n

Why join Medacs Healthcare?

\n

Medacs Healthcare offers a supportive environment led by experienced clinicians, with robust training and long‑term development opportunities in a hybrid working model designed for sustainability and balance.

\n

\n

Apply now or contact for more information

\n

Make the move into a clinically focused, non‑hands‑on role that values your expertise while offering greater flexibility and stability.

\n

Ts & Cs apply. OTE subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

\n

Medacs Healthcare is a Disability Confident Employer and welcomes applications from candidates with disabilities
