Job description
Associate - Employment Department: Employment, Pensions and Immigration - North Employment Type: Permanent Location: Bristol Description DACBs Employment team acts for a range of market leading clients across the financial services, healthcare and commercial sectors. Our Bristol team forms part of DACBs national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team comprising 120+ lawyers. The national team operates from six locations: London, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, and Dublin and we are one of the largest employment law teams in the country. Our local Bristol team has strong and growing reputations and is recognised as Band/Tier 1 in both the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 UK rankings. The Bristol team undertakes work for the national teams clients, works closely in tandem with our London team but also acts for some clients in the South West England market. The spread of the sectors is broad covering financial services clients and household name corporates as well as being a market leader in the public and independent health sectors. For more information on our Employment and Pensions expertise please go to https://www.dacbeachcroft.com/en/gb/expertise/services/employment-and-pensions/ Key Responsibilities * Undertake a busy and varied workload of employment matters advising all types of employers * Work on complex discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract litigation (Employment Tribunal and High Court) under appropriate supervision * Assist on non-contentious projects including restructures (redundancy and TUPE) in the UK and across multiple jurisdictions * General employment advisory work by telephone and email * Take an active role in supervising the work of and assisting in the development of trainees and paralegals * Take part in and initiate marketing, networking and other business development activities in order to maintain and develop work from existing clients and potential clients. This includes assisting with client seminars and delivering training * Contribute to non fee-earning activity as appropriate e.g. knowledge sharing, internal training Skills, Knowledge and Expertise * We would expect the post holder to be a qualified Solicitor - ideally 2-5yr PQE. * Ideally experience of advising clients in the financial services sector and multi-national commercial clients and/or some public sector clients. * Must have experience of working on tribunal claims and other contentious matters * Independent thinker with a focus on generating commercial solutions to problems on behalf of clients * Confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships with clients and influence at all levels * Enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach J-18808-Ljbffr
