Overview Examiner - GCE A Level - CHEMISTRY (2016 Specification)— Pearson A GCE Chemistry (2016 Specification) Examiner will mark candidates’ responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, while adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures. Most subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN from home; some subjects are still marked using traditional paper scripts sent by post. A high level of subject knowledge is required to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an agreed allocation of scripts. Responsibilities * Mark accurately and consistently to maintain overall standards * Submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times * Ensure milestones for marking are adhered to * Complete all required administration as specified Experience / Qualifications * One academic years teaching experience within the last 8 years in the relevant qualification and subject * Degree or equivalent * Qualified teacher Competencies * Ability to work well under pressure * Ability to meet deadlines * High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme Additional Information * The marking period is between May – July * Training to mark as an examiner occurs between May and June About Pearson We value inclusive culture and embed diversity and inclusion in everything we do.
