Responsibilities * Act as the focal point for the reception of patients, relatives and carers, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained at all times. * Maintain effective liaison with the relevant wards and departments within the hospital and with patients and other healthcare providers associated with the Consultant’s team to ensure a prompt and effective communication system. * Assist in the upkeep of departmental clinical information and general filing of correspondence. * Deal with queries in a timely manner via the telephone or face‑to‑face, escalating as appropriate. * Request investigations and test results identified at the last attendance or on referral letters and flag missing items to clinic receptionists. * Include appropriate clinic outcome forms to record the outcome of the consultation (e.g., added to waiting list, discharged, etc.) by clinic reception staff. * Responsible for regular case‑note maintenance and accurate filing. * Responsible for monitoring and selecting future waiting‑list patients. * Have an understanding of the 18‑week RTT process and a knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy; agree to adhere to these policies in accordance with national Trust guidelines. * Work to strict Trust and Government policies regarding waiting‑list management and the 18‑week guideline. * Ensure patients are contacted regarding offers of appointment dates and times. Benefits * Development opportunities, both professional and leadership development. * Ongoing support from recruitment to when you join our team and beyond. * Staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, onsite fitness classes and car schemes. #J-18808-Ljbffr
