Main duties of the job University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) delivers a busy and complex cardiac and congenital cardiac surgery service, with our large perfusion team central to supporting safe care and achieving some of the strongest patient outcomes in England. We are seeking experienced Senior Clinical Perfusion Scientists to join our Cardiovascular and Thoracic care group, recognised as a regional centre of excellence. Successful applicants will be familiar with all adult cardiac surgical techniques, including cell salvage, point-of-care blood analysis, DHCA and ECMO. Paediatric and ACHD experience would be beneficial but is not essential. The department currently offers a 37.5-hour, 3-day working week. Job responsibilities Currently, the cardiac team undertakes 1800 adults and 400 paediatric procedures per year across our five cardiac theatres. You must be accredited by the Society of Perfusionists of Great Britain & Ireland and registered with the College of Clinical Perfusionists of Great Britain & Ireland. This role attracts an additional Recruitment and Retention Premium (see details below), a contribution to relocation costs for eligible candidates as well as an exceptional NHSP rate for additional shifts.
