In this pivotal position, you'll support our project leaders, deliver successful outcomes for clients, and contribute to a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role offers a clear development pathway toward future Director opportunities.
About the Role
As an Associate Project Manager, you will manage and deliver a wide range of project and programme management services, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, profitably, and to the highest professional standard. • Lead multiple projects as the primary project manager
• Maintain clear and effective communication across project teams
• Manage client and project teams to deliver services on time and within budget
• Undertake site visits, surveys, and meetings with contractors, clients, and stakeholders
• Produce accurate and timely project outputs, reporting, and documentation
• Build strong, professional relationships with clients through effective communication and delivery
• Mentor and support junior staff, helping them progress toward RICS or equivalent chartership

• Support the Northern Head of Project Management with day-to-day team operations
• Manage project finances, including forecasting, reporting, and fee management
• Prepare proposal content and support bid submissions
• Lead multidisciplinary consultant teams on a range of construction projects
• Monitor project performance, proactively managing risks and taking corrective action where required
• Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring requirements and approvals are fully captured
• Oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring all goals and deliverables are defined and achieved
• Coordinate design, development, construction, commissioning, and technical inputs using internal SMEs
• Manage change control processes in line with client requirements through to successful handover
• Report on cost, programme, health and safety, and project performance using appropriate tools
What We're Looking For
• Degree in project management, construction management, building surveying, engineering, or equivalent
• Chartered status (MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM) or membership of an equivalent professional body
• Minimum five years' project delivery experience within a consultancy or contractor environment
• Experience in pre- and post-contract services and reporting to external clients
• Proficiency with estimating software, including BIM-linked tools
• Strong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills
• Well-organised, proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage competing priorities
• A collaborative team player with a positive, professional, and flexible approach
Desirable Experience
• Previous line management experience and ability to delegate effectively
• Programming/scheduling skills (MS Project, ASTA, or equivalent)
• Design management experience
• Project financial management and cash flow forecasting
• Familiarity with NEC and JCT forms of contract
• Broad experience across capital and revenue projects
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (particularly APM)
• Ability to run projects independently with minimal senior oversight
