Job description
AI Architectural Designer at Contech Startup Central London, hybrid You are an architect who cannot stop thinking about AI, automation and how technology will transform the built environment. You may be at an early stage in your career, but you are hungry to experiment, prototype and build tools that make designing and delivering buildings smarter and more human centred. If that sounds like you, this contech startup could be the perfect home. The studio is a design-led technology company working at the intersection of architecture, construction and product design. You would join a small, ambitious team that blends architects, computational designers and software engineers, all focused on creating digital products that improve how spaces are conceived, evaluated and delivered. Responsibilities * Translate real-world architectural workflows into intelligent, digital tools * Experiment with AI and machine learning to support design, feasibility and planning * Help build and test early product features alongside engineers and product leads * Prototype design interfaces, templates and automations for architects and developers * Analyse spatial, planning and performance data to inform product decisions * Present ideas, experiments and demos clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders * Contribute to a curious, collaborative, low ego culture where ideas are shared openly Skills * Education or experience in architecture or a closely related built environment discipline * Genuine enthusiasm for AI, computational design and emerging technologies * Confidence working with design and modelling tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit or similar * Some exposure to scripting or coding, for example Python, C Sharp or visual scripting tools * Ability to explain complex ideas simply, with a design mindset and user focus * Comfort operating in a startup environment where you iterate quickly and learn in public * A portfolio or set of examples that show how you think, not just finished visuals * Opportunity to help shape a new product from an early stage and see your ideas shipped * Close collaboration with founders who have both architectural and tech experience * Hybrid working pattern with time in a central workspace for collaboration * Support for courses, conferences and self directed learning around AI and product * Clear progression as the team grows, with the potential to define your own niche * A culture that values experimentation, constructive feedback and work life balance If you are excited by the idea of blending architecture, AI and product in a growing startup, this could be the move that changes your career trajectory.
