Job description
HGV Class 2 Driver - New Passes Welcome People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced and newly qualified drivers who are looking for stability, excellent earning potential and long-term progression with one of Chesterfield's leading logistics companies. This role may be suitable for candidates with experience as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Truck Driver. Shift Pattern: * Monday to Friday * 07:00 start times Pay Rate: * £14.50 to £18.00 per hour Benefits: Your benefits as an HGV Class 2 Driver are: * Excellent hourly rates (PAYE, holidays accrued separately) * Ongoing work with full training and support * Weekly pay * New passes welcome * Immediate starts available * Company discounts after the qualifying period * Staff canteen * Free on-site parking * Employee wellbeing programme Day to Day Duties: As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include: * Safely operating and driving Class 2 vehicles to and from delivery locations * Delivering kitchen and bedroom products to customers' homes alongside a Driver's Mate * Completing loading and unloading duties safely and accurately * Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects * Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures * Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork * Communicating effectively with dispatch teams, customers and site staff * Completing multi-drop deliveries * Undertaking some handball duties as part of the role Essential Skills: The skills required to be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver are: * Valid UK Category C Driving Licence * Valid UK CPC Card * Valid Digital Tachograph Card * No more than six penalty points for minor offences * No IN, DR, DD or CD convictions * Reliable, professional and punctual approach * Good communication and customer service skills * Understanding of road safety and compliance requirements * Ability to work effectively with a Driver's Mate Desirable Experience: * Previous commercial driving experience * Multi-drop delivery experience * Experience handling large or bulky goods * Strong customer service skills Training: * Full industry-related training provided * Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment Apply: If you are ready to join a respected logistics business offering excellent rates of pay, flexibility and genuine opportunities for progression, apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch to discuss the role further.
