Job description
Lainston House in Winchester, a part of the Exclusive Collection, is a 17th-century country house full of character and charm. You will join as a People & Culture Manager leading the people agenda within the hotel, partnering with the General Manager and senior team to build a high‑performing, inclusive, and engaged workforce. As part of our team, you’ll enjoy: * Competitive pay, plus service charge * Great rates for stays across all our hotels and 50% discount on Food & Beverage dining * Free meals while on duty * Free access to the on‑site gym and parking * Access to our Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing resources * Exclusive discounts and perks through Hospitality Essentials * Opportunities for growth, learning, and internal movement within the Exclusive Collection Key Responsibilities * Lead the end-to-end People & Culture function, ensuring a high‑performing, values‑led and compliant operation * Partner with the General Manager and senior leaders to deliver people strategy aligned to business goals * Oversee all core People processes including recruitment, onboarding, systems, payroll input, and reporting * Drive talent acquisition activity, ensuring strong pipelines and excellent candidate experience * Own the employee lifecycle, embedding engagement, communication, and wellbeing initiatives * Provide expert guidance on employee relations, leading investigations and ensuring compliant outcomes * Deliver and support learning and development initiatives, including inductions and leadership capability * Champion diversity, equity and inclusion across all People activity * Use People data and insights to inform decision‑making and improve performance and retention * Ensure compliance with UK employment law and all relevant policies and regulations Person Specification * Significant generalist HR experience, ideally within hospitality or a service‑led environment * CIPD qualified or equivalent with strong knowledge of UK employment law * Proven experience across recruitment, employee relations, and engagement * Commercially aware with the ability to align people strategy to business performance * Confident using HR systems and data to drive insight * Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to coach stakeholders * Experience managing ER cases, investigations, and compliance * Passionate about creating inclusive and high‑performing cultures * Organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities * Positive, approachable, and solutions‑focused We are a certified B Corp, committed to sustainability and responsible business practices.
