Job Description FERROVIAL CONSTRUCTION (UK) LIMITED is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Bid Writer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in crafting compelling and winning proposals for complex infrastructure projects. Responsibilities * Lead author/bid writing services on forthcoming PQQs and tenders. * Produce responses to a high standard, answering full questions and applying scoring criteria. * Engage with subject matter experts (SME) to gather information and ensure adherence to deadlines. * Read and understand the full suite of client documents for each PQQ/tender. * Challenge and, if necessary, escale SME content to the appropriate bid team member. * Optimise responses to achieve the highest possible scores. * Collaborate closely with bid directors, BD directors, bid managers, technical leads, and field specialists to develop key messages, themes, approaches and innovative/value‑added concepts. * Work with external specialists/writers and directly with clients, when required. * Support BD‑related marketing collateral, master case studies, and evidence gathering activities. * Analyze requirements to ensure all proposals meet client requirements. * Coordinate and lead all technical aspects of the bid process, including development, outlines, drafts, review scheduling, and tracking of team assignments. * Maintain a database of standard proposal responses. * Contribute intelligence related to clients and competitors to support project pursuits. * Ensure all bidding qualifications are in place and maintained. Qualifications * Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field. * Proven experience as a Bid Writer or Senior Bid Writer. * Demonstrable track record of successfully securing major contracts through high‑quality bid submissions. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style. * Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines. * Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. * A strategic thinker with a proactive and results‑oriented approach. * Understanding of public procurement processes and frameworks (e.g., PQQ, ITT, RFQ) within the UK construction market.
