Job description
Overview Associate Contentious Construction 3+ Years PQE – Bristol or Exeter Location: Bristol or Exeter Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time Salary: £60,000 to £90,000 (depending on experience) The Role A highly regarded Construction team is seeking an experienced Associate (3+ PQE) to join its busy and expanding practice in either Bristol or Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high quality contentious construction matters across a broad range of sectors, acting for major national and international clients. You will handle a varied and complex caseload of contentious construction and energy related disputes, including: * Court litigation, adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and other forms of ADR * Disputes involving payment issues, delays, defects, and professional negligence * Advising on contract management and dispute avoidance strategies * Working across a wide range of construction projects, including: o Commercial development o Utilities and renewable energy o Residential schemes o Operation, maintenance, and service contracts o Facilities management * Collaborating with colleagues across Construction, Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial, and Planning teams * Working directly with clients from the outset and managing day to day conduct of disputes * Receiving ongoing training and support from a specialist Senior Knowledge Lawyer * Taking responsibility for high value, high quality work with significant client impact Candidate Requirements This role is suited to a construction disputes specialist with: * 3+ years PQE in contentious construction * Strong experience in adjudication and court litigation processes * Excellent communication, technical, and organisational skills * Ability to provide clear, commercial, and pragmatic advice under pressure * Experience with JCT and NEC contracts (ideal) * Exposure to a range of construction disputes, including adjudications, arbitrations, and expert determinations * Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex matters * Proven ability to build strong client relationships * Genuine interest in the construction and infrastructure sector * Ambition, self motivation, and enthusiasm for professional development * A collaborative, team focused approach Benefits The firm offers: * Competitive salary and benefits package * High quality, complex work for prestigious clients * Strong career development and progression opportunities * Supportive and collaborative team environment * Access to specialist training and knowledge resources * Opportunities to build your professional network and profile How to Apply If this opportunity sounds of interest or you\d like a confidential conversation about your next career move, please contact: Olivia Reed Email: oliviareed@chadwicknott.co.uk Phone: 0117 917 1515 / 07711 799761 This statement is retained: At Chadwick Nott, we are committed to developing a diverse and inclusive culture as well as supporting our large client network achieve the same.
