At Addleshaw Goddard, were proud to be a leading law firm trusted by thousands of organisations in over 100 countries. Weve recently received awards for our outstanding training, peer support, innovation, gender equality, culture, and diversity – reflecting our ongoing commitment to excellence and inclusion. You dont need to be a lawyer to be a leader in this supportive and inclusive professional environment. Just be yourself. And start by helping to win exciting opportunities for our firm in our Bids team. About the role The Bids team at Addleshaw Goddard helps the firm win new work from clients. When a company or organisation needs legal services, they often ask firms to explain their merits. This process is called a “bid” or a “pitch”. The Bids team works to put together documents and presentations that show why Addleshaw Goddard is the right firm to help the client. They understand the clients needs, highlight the firms expertise, and make sure the clients questions are answered. The team helps manage deadlines, organises meetings, and ensures everything runs smoothly. You will support the Bids team in the development, coordination and delivery of high‑quality bids, proposals and presentations while completing the Bids and Proposal Coordinator Level 3 apprenticeship with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals. What we are looking for There is no such thing as a ‘typical Addleshaw Goddard candidate. As a firm, we are shaped by different perspectives, and we know our success depends on giving opportunities to people from a range of backgrounds, locations and perspectives. As a Bids Coordinator Apprentice at Addleshaw Goddard, a typical day might look like: You start your day by checking emails for any new bid opportunities or updates. You update the bids database, track ongoing projects, and schedule meetings for the team and other colleagues (including lawyers) to progress projects. You will research clients, competitors, and the legal market to help the team build strong, tailored bids. You help to create, edit and format bid documents so they look professional and follow the firms brand guidelines. As part of this, you collect information from colleagues about their expertise to include. You share your ideas for improving the way bids are managed, such as finding new ways to present information. Throughout the day, youll support the team with general administration, like organising files and keeping records up to date about progress and outcomes of bids. Youll work with lots of different people, learning how the firm wins new work, and gaining valuable skills for your career. There are some attributes we would like you to bring to this role. Please dont be put off if you dont meet all of them, we will build your skillset. * Good Communication: You can talk and write clearly, and youre happy to ask questions or explain details. * Team Player: You enjoy working with others and helping the team achieve its goals. * Organised: You keep track of tasks and manage time well, even when things get busy. * Problem Solver: You like finding solutions to challenges and arent afraid to try new ways of working. * Attention to Detail: You check your work to make sure information is accurate and nothing is missed. * Willing to Learn: Youre open to learning new skills, including using new technology/AI tools over time. * Confidentiality: You understand the importance of keeping information private and safe. * Customer Focused: You want to help clients and colleagues, creating a smooth experience. You may have prior customer service or administration experience (not essential). * Motivated: You have an interest in how businesses grow, marketing or working in professional environments and you are committed to the Bids apprenticeship programme. What you can expect With Addleshaw Goddard, you can expect a supportive team culture, a flexible, friendly and state‑of‑the‑art working environment, and an attractive salary and benefits package. For the role of Bids Coordinator Apprentice, we will reward you with a first‑year salary of £21,500. We have a range of benefits, including access to healthcare, mental health support and wellbeing and lifestyle initiatives. Our dedicated Early Careers team will support you before and whilst in the role, including delivering development opportunities via our Early Careers pathways. We operate a hybrid working model, requiring employees to attend the office for a minimum 3 days per week, with the remaining days available for remote working. Specific office attendance requirements may vary by role and business needs. Eligibility and recruitment process To be eligible for the apprenticeship, you must have achieved 3 A‑levels (or equivalent qualifications) at grade C or above as well as 5 GCSEs grades 4/C or above (or equivalent qualifications), including English and Maths. The recruitment process is made up of three steps: Application Form: You start by filling in an online form with your details, such as your education, work experience (if you have any), and why you want the job. Please note that applications will go live on Monday 20 April and will close on Friday 29 May. Voice Interview: This stage is usually done online in your own time, where you answer questions about yourself and your motivation for the role. This will take place in June. Assessment Centre: Here, youll take part in different activities, including an interview, a group task and an in‑tray exercise where you show how you would handle tasks you might do in the job. The assessment centre will take place between Monday 29 June and Monday 13 July. Please note, we may close applications earlier if we receive a high volume of applications, so we recommend that you apply early.
