Working as a Production Operative / Assembly Operative you will be responsible for assembling protective cases and rack systems, ensuring all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.

As a Production Operative / Assembly Operative you will play a key role within the production team, supporting efficient manufacturing processes while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Production Operative / Assembly Operative include:

• Product Assembly: Assemble cases and rack systems in line with drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Component Fitting: Install hardware such as handles, hinges, catches, and fixings
• Tool Operation: Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively
• Quality Checks: Inspect finished products for accuracy, finish, and compliance with standards
• Order Completion: Ensure all production tasks are completed on time to meet deadlines
• Defect Reporting: Identify and report faults, damaged materials, or missing components
• Packing and Dispatch: Prepare completed items for safe packaging and dispatch
• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all procedures, use PPE, and maintain safe working practices
• Workstation Maintenance: Keep the workspace clean, organised, and safe
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and support other departments when required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment
• Ability to use hand tools and follow technical drawings or instructions
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to work to targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Reliable with strong timekeeping and attendance

DESIRABLE:

• Experience assembling engineered products such as cases or racks
• Familiarity with basic power tools including drills, rivet guns, and drivers
• Experience working within quality-controlled or ISO environments
• A practical, hands-on approach with a positive attitude
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
