Job description
Mechanical Engineering Expert (AI Training) About The Role We’re looking for mechanical engineering specialists to help train and evaluate cutting‑edge AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI understands and reasons through complex engineering problems — from fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to structural mechanics and FEA. This is a unique opportunity to work at the frontier of AI development, applying your hard‑earned expertise in a flexible, remote freelance role. * Organization: Alignerr * Type: Hourly Contract * Location: Remote * Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You’ll Do * Design Complex Engineering Problems — Craft advanced, multi‑domain mechanical engineering challenges across areas like finite element analysis (FEA), heat transfer, kinematics, fluid mechanics, and material science to rigorously test AI performance * Author Ground‑Truth Solutions — Develop precise, step‑by‑step technical solutions and benchmark responses that serve as the gold standard for AI learning * Audit AI Technical Reasoning — Evaluate AI‑generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) * Refine AI Reasoning Processes — Identify logical errors such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or flawed material assumptions, and provide structured feedback to improve how AI models "think" Who You Are * Holds a Master’s degree (in progress or completed) or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field * Strong foundational expertise in one or more core domains: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, mechatronics, or manufacturing processes * Able to communicate complex technical concepts and physical phenomena clearly and precisely in written form * Highly detail‑oriented with a sharp eye for mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints * No prior AI experience required — we’ll get you up to speed Nice to Have * Prior experience in data annotation, data quality assurance, or technical evaluation workflows * Proficiency with engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, ANSYS, or similar tools * Familiarity with industry standards like ASME, ISO, or ASTM Why Join Us * Work on some of the most advanced AI projects in the world alongside leading AI research labs * Fully remote and flexible — set your own schedule and work at your own pace * Apply your engineering expertise in a novel, high‑impact way * Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global community of domain experts * Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch J-18808-Ljbffr
