Job description
Trainee Class 2 Driver - Start as a Drivers Mate Location: Barton-Upon-Humber £13.15 per hour | £32,822.40 - £37,609 (avg hours) Rising to £16.75 per hour I £41,808pa - £52,260pa OTE Temp-to-Perm | Full-Time | Early Starts (4am6am) Are you ready to kickstart a long-term driving careerbut dont yet have your Class 2 licence? Were looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our home delivery team as a Drivers Mate, with the opportunity to train and qualify as a Class 2 Driver. Well support you every step of the way, from learning the ropes on the road to becoming a fully trained, licensed professional driver. Whats in it for you? * Progression Path Start as a Drivers Mate and progress to a fully qualified Class 2 Driver with our support * Full training provided including funded Driver CPC and Class 2 licence * Quarterly performance bonus up to £375 (rising to £750 as a driver) * Permanent opportunities after initial temp period * 5 yearly medical costs covered * Uniform, pension, discounts & more * 25 days holiday + bank holidays * £13.15ph as a drivers mate / £16.75ph as Class 2 Driver. About the Role Youll begin as a Drivers Mate in a 2-person crew, delivering to customers homes: * Assist with heavy, physical lifting and delivering items to the room of choice * Make customer phone calls with delivery ETAs and log deliveries * Ensure all items are scanned and accounted for * Support the driver and learn the daily routine of a Class 2 role * Report any parking/access issues to the transport team * Maintain high standards of safety, timekeeping, and customer service * Shifts start between 4am and 6am * Expect up to 10 - 12-hour shifts (averaging 48 hours per week) * Youll need your own transport to get to site What Youll Need * A can-do attitude, great communication, and willingness to learn * Physically fit this is a demanding, hands-on job * Maximum of 6 points on your licence (no DD, CU80, or IN) * A DBS check will be required before starting Your Future You Starts Here Contact Liam at Rapier Wakefield.
