Role Overview You will be responsible for developing and executing Front Line Genomics’ content strategy, with a strong focus on generating high-value interview-led and written content that delivers unique insights beyond what can be accessed through AI and publicly available sources. This is a hugely varied and interesting role, with excellent development and progression prospects. The Company Front Line Genomics is a for‑profit organisation delivering genomics benefits to patients faster. We support health care organisations, academia, pharmaceutical companies and technology firms, and we host the Festival of Genomics & Biodata in London and Boston. Working Location The role is based remotely, with 1 day in London per month, plus attendance of Festivals in London and Boston. You can be based anywhere in the UK. Key Responsibilities 1. Content Strategy and Editorial Planning o Develop and execute a structured, forward‑looking content plan aligned with Front Line Genomics’ strategic priorities. o Ensure content is timely, relevant, and captures the “zeitgeist” of the industry. 2. Interview‑Led Content Development o Lead the development of an interview‑driven content model, delivering approximately five interviews per week across multiple formats. o Conduct interviews across formats including: o Extract high‑value, proprietary insights that differentiate Front Line Genomics’ content from AI‑generated information. 3. Website Ownership and Content Management o Oversee and manage the Front Line Genomics website (WordPress). o Publish and manage all content on the website, ensuring consistency and quality. o Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date company information on the website. o Leverage the website as a central platform to promote all Front Line Genomics activities and products. 4. Newsletter Strategy and Execution o Own the development, writing, and distribution of the Front Line Genomics newsletter. o Define and evolve the newsletter’s value proposition to ensure it is engaging, distinctive, and aligned with the brand voice. o Monitor and optimise key performance metrics. 5. Editorial Quality Control (Proofing and Editing) o Act as the final editorial and proofing checkpoint for much of the content and marketing material produced across the organisation. o Ensure all output is accurate, clear, consistent, and aligned with Front Line Genomics’ tone and standards. 6. Marketing and Social Media Support o On occasion, support in developing high‑quality written content for marketing and social media activities. o Support the development of a content‑rich social media strategy that reflects Front Line Genomics’ proximity to its audience. o Create content that drives engagement, strengthens brand positioning, and supports conversion objectives. 7. Commercial Alignment and Content Repurposing o Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to align content output with marketing and commercial objectives, supporting lead generation and audience development. o Develop content that can be repurposed across multiple formats and channels. 8. Integration with Events and Reports o Align content/interview schedules with Front Line Genomics’ wider product portfolio where appropriate. o Support the amplification of these products through targeted, relevant content. o Oversee the development of Leader’s Exchange reports in collaboration with the production team. o Ensure effective capture of insights from Leader’s Exchange meetings. 9. Performance Tracking and Reporting o Monitor and analyse performance across content channels. o Provide regular reports and actionable insights to inform content strategy and business decisions. 10. Industry Awareness and Thought Leadership o Stay up to date with developments in genomics, biodata, AI, and the broader life sciences landscape. o Identify emerging trends and translate them into content opportunities. 11. Use of Technology and AI o Actively explore and implement new technologies, including AI and large language models. o Identify ways to combine human insight (interviews) with AI capabilities to create differentiated content. 12. Assisting with The Festival of Genomics & Biodata o Help run events onsite (e.g., running theatres during the Festivals) and be responsible for some post‑event activities (as required). Education and Experience * Education: A first class or 2.1 bachelor’s degree in a biological sciences subject. A master’s degree or PhD is a plus. * Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a life sciences writing, interviewing and proofing/editing role. Qualifications and Attributes * A LOVE of science: you are the person who bores family and friends in the pub with news of exciting scientific breakthroughs. * Communications: strong background in science writing, journalism, or life sciences communication. * Interviewing: excellent interviewing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and extract valuable insights. * Writing and proofing: exceptional writing, editing and proofreading abilities, with high attention to detail. * Topic knowledge: strong understanding of genomics, life sciences or related technical fields. * Website/content platforms: experience managing digital content platforms (e.g., WordPress). * Other tools: familiarity with Canva, HubSpot, Google Analytics and SEO best practices. * Organised: ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. * Analytical: strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret content performance data. * Commercial: commercial awareness and understanding of how content supports marketing and revenue generation.
