Job description
Lead Amazon's Pay Equity Analytics & Compliance (PEAC) Program as we establish a world-class Center of Excellence for pay equity and transparency compliance. This is a rare opportunity to build something transformational from the ground up—leading Amazon's global response to rapidly evolving pay transparency legislation while protecting the company from significant regulatory and reputational risks.

As Senior Manager of our Risk & Compliance team, you'll be the strategic architect behind scalable compliance mechanisms that impact hundreds of thousands of employees. You'll regularly advise senior leadership across People (PXT), Legal, and Business teams on complex compliance strategy and trade-offs, with your decisions directly shaping Amazon's approach to pay equity globally.

Ready to build the future of pay equity compliance at global scale? Join us in London and help Amazon raise the bar for employee experience while navigating the most complex regulatory environment in employment law.

Key job responsibilities
Why This Role is Special

- Unprecedented Scope & Impact: Lead pay equity compliance for one of the world's largest employers during a period of unprecedented regulatory change. Your work will directly impact Amazon's ability to attract and retain talent while protecting against significant financial and reputational risks.

- Innovation at Scale: Build compliance mechanisms that don't just meet today's requirements but anticipate future regulatory evolution. Create solutions that become the gold standard for how global technology companies approach pay transparency.

- Strategic Influence: Regular exposure to senior leadership across multiple functions, with your expertise directly informing critical business decisions. Shape Amazon's global compensation strategy during a transformational period for pay transparency.

What You'll Build

Global Compliance Leadership:
- Lead implementation of the EU Pay Transparency Directive across 22 countries and 250+ legal entities, managing complex requirements including pay gap reporting, joint pay assessments, and employee pay disclosure mechanisms
- Design and implement scalable compliance frameworks for emerging pay transparency obligations across North America, APAC, and other global markets
- Establish Amazon's compliance strategy for statutory pay equity reporting, serving as Single Threaded Owner for global obligations

Center of Excellence Development
- Transform PEAC from a project-based team into a strategic Center of Excellence
- Create educational programs and upskilling initiatives to enable Line Compensation Consultants as effective pay equity partners
- Develop standardized methodologies, risk assessment frameworks, and compliance mechanisms that scale across diverse regulatory environments

Strategic Risk Management
- Conduct dynamic risk assessments to support data-driven decision making across complex, ambiguous regulatory landscapes
- Monitor emerging legislation globally, identifying risks and designing remediation strategies before obligations are triggered
- Lead cross-functional project teams through end-to-end compliance delivery, from risk assessment through implementation and post-submission support

A day in the life
What You'll Partner On

Elite Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner daily with Employment Legal, Public Policy, Communications, and business leaders across Amazon's major divisions—AI, AWS, Devices, Entertainment, Retail, and International operations. Navigate highly ambiguous regulatory environments at the intersection of legal risk, employee experience, and business strategy.

Technical Innovation
- Collaborate with our Pay Equity Analytics & Science Team to translate complex regulatory requirements into technical solutions, including automated compliance mechanisms, centralized data repositories, and employee disclosure systems.

About the team
We're a close-knit London-based team that turns complex regulatory puzzles into elegant solutions—and has a great time doing it. We debate, celebrate, and collaborate; and genuinely enjoy working together.

Our team thrives on the energy that comes from tackling problems no one has solved before, supporting each other, and sharing both our victories and our "learning moments" along the way.

If you're someone who finds excitement in problem-solving and appreciates colleagues who care as much about team culture as they do about getting the work right, you'll feel at home here.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in risk management, audit, legal, compliance or a related field including engaging with external stakeholders
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
- Experience working within a global company, with multi-country responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience managing direct reports

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- CAMS Certification or other compliance certification such as CRCM or CRP
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), or regulatory requirements or standards
- Experience with audit or risk program design, control environment process documentation, and control mapping
- Master's degree or equivalent
