About the role

We're looking for a Data and BI Analyst to join our IT team at Activate Group.

The BI Analyst is a key role within the central Data & BI function, focused on delivering high-quality reporting and analysis to support business decision-making across the Group.

The role is responsible for developing Power BI dashboards, supporting analytics initiatives, and working with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver clear, actionable outputs. This is a hands-on delivery role, contributing to both project work and BAU activity, with opportunities to develop broader analytical and stakeholder management capability over time.

Activate Group is a growing UK business approaching 1,000+ team members nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that values its people and offers genuine development and progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports aligned to business requirements.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear reporting outputs, with support from senior team members where needed
  • Support delivery of analytics initiatives, contributing to data preparation, modelling and visualisation.
  • Work with Data Engineering to ensure data is accurate, structured and available for reporting.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs.
  • Apply agreed BI standards, including data modelling, naming conventions and report design.
  • Support the migration of legacy reporting (Excel, Tableau) into Power BI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting and analytical processes.
  • Document datasets, reports and business logic to support transparency and reuse.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong Power BI skills, including report development and basic data modelling.
  • Good understanding of DAX and ability to create calculated measures.
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to work with structured datasets.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to understand and deliver requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience migrating reports from Excel or Tableau into Power BI.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Azure).
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts (e.g. star schema).
  • Experience working within a centralised data or BI function.
  • Interest in developing stakeholder management and analytical capability further.
