  • Flexible Working - Access to all available bank shifts within your business unit, with the ability to self-book shifts that match your skills and availability.
  • Greater Work-Life Balance - Submit shift preferences and days off up to six weeks in advance through our "Request a Duty" system.
  • Wagestream Access - Track your earnings throughout the month and access earned wages before payday when needed.
  • Professional Development - Free statutory and mandatory training, access to e-learning, development courses, and ongoing learning opportunities.

  • Supportive Professional Networks - Access to our Strive for Better networks, connecting you with healthcare professionals across the organisation.
  • 24/7 Wellbeing Support - Free confidential wellbeing services, including counselling, legal and financial advice, career coaching, and practical life support.
  • Innovative and Inclusive Culture - Be encouraged to share ideas, contribute to service improvements, and apply for funding to support local initiatives.
  • Recognition and Reward - Opportunities to be recognised through local and national awards and engage directly with senior leaders through our "Ask Our Executives" events.
  • Commitment to Quality Care - Join an organisation focused on delivering outstanding clinical care, with many services rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Main Responsibilities

  • Safely administer medications to patients and carry out medicines management activities in line with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Conduct medication audits, stock checks, and controlled medicines monitoring to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Deliver a high-quality, specialist pharmacy service within a secure prison environment, adhering to national and local policies.
  • Provide a medicines administration service to patients, ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.
  • Deliver wing-based medicines management support in collaboration with clinical colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Support the implementation of medicines management initiatives, service developments, and improvement projects across the prison.
  • Contribute to medicines optimisation programmes and support the effective management of prescribing and medication budgets.
  • Promote safe and effective pharmacy practice by providing advice, guidance, and training to both patients and staff.
  • Work independently within established guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Medicines Policies, while recognising when to seek clinical support.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, governance, and security at all times within the custodial healthcare setting.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead, Pharmacist Manager, and wider healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
  • Support continuous quality improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance pharmacy services and patient outcomes.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Have experience working within a hospital, primary care, community pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
  • Possess a strong understanding of medicines management and safe medication practices.
  • Be confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when handling medication and patient records.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Be comfortable using a range of IT systems and digital healthcare applications.
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Display a flexible, patient-centred approach and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care.

About the Company

We change lives by transforming health and care.
Established in 2006, we are one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency, and improved outcomes. We deliver and transform adult and children community health services, primary care services including urgent care, sexual health, dermatology and MSK services as well as adult social care and wellbeing services. Across England, we support communities of many millions and directly help more than half a million people each year - guided by our simple values: we care, we think, we do.

We're committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from a broad, diverse range of people who want to join our team. We’re a Disability Confident Committed company, so we work to provide facilities, work environment adjustments and technical solutions to be as inclusive of everyone.

While it doesn’t happen often, sometimes a role is very popular, and we’ll need to close it earlier than the date we’ve shown here. If you’re keen to join our team, we’d love to hear from you so please apply as soon as you can.

As you’d expect, safeguarding and protecting the children, young people and vulnerable adults that we work with is of the utmost importance so we have policies and procedures in place to promote safeguarding and safer working practices and everyone who joins the team is subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks.

Finally, we need to let you know that the company you’ll work for is part of HCRG Care Group Holdings Limited and by applying for this job we’ll need to process and hold information about you. If you would like to know a little more about how we use your information, please see our website's privacy policy.
