With the upcoming changes to eyecare in the country, there is no better time to practise in Wales; if you're not already WECS accredited we'll support you with your studies - it's easier than you think.
With a focus on flexibility, we are open to full-time and part-time applicants and will consider any working pattern to suit you. So, whether you need condensed hours, alternate weekends or early finishes, we're open to making it work - but let's talk about that later. You can expect a busy yet relaxed environment where everyone is working towards the same goal: creating joy in vision for our colleagues and customers.
What we're looking forAlongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, the right person for this position will be confident, possess a strong work ethic and a willingness to succeed. You'll be passionate about your job and enjoy a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an Optometrist who will go the extra mile for our customers and someone who encourages their colleagues to do the same. In summary, we're looking for a high calibre resident Optometrist to join us and assist in driving this excellent practice forward.

Welshpool is a perfect town for exploring the beautiful sights of Mid Wales. Discover countryside canal walks, modern art, historic castles and heritage railways on your days off. Property is certainly reasonable; the average price in 2022 was a little over £199k.
Welshpool is in the county of Powys, Wales, 4 miles from the England-Wales border. Shrewsbury lies 17 miles away; north-west of London is 150 miles distant; it is 80 miles to Manchester.
You can easily get to and from Welshpool by public transport. The scenic Cambrian Line has regular trains to Welshpool from Birmingham, Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth. The train station and the bus terminus are a two minute walk from the store.
