Job description
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time | Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (Paid to Scale) A highly prestigious grammar school in St Albans is seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Second in History to join its successful and well-established Humanities faculty from September 2026. The Opportunity The successful candidate will: Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 Have the opportunity to teach A Level History depending on experience Support the Head of Department with curriculum planning and departmental development Help monitor teaching, learning, and student progress across the department Deliver engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking lessons that inspire curiosity Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as trips, debates, lectures, and history societies Play an active role in maintaining high standards and raising achievement What the School Offers This selective grammar school in St Albans has an exceptional reputation for academic excellence and student achievement.
