Essential Functions:

The Lead Subcontract Administrator reports to the Manager of Subcontracts.
In this role you will provide strategic legal and contractual expertise to support complex high-impact projects across the organization. Working closely with the subcontract specialist and multidisciplinary teams you will help protect the companys interests by advising on contractual terms identifying and mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with financial regulatory and corporate requirements.

You will play a key role throughout the entire subcontract lifecyclefrom analyzing tenders and supporting proposal development to negotiating agreements and managing contract changes. By guiding internal stakeholders and ensuring contractual obligations are clearly communicated to subcontractors you will contribute to successful project delivery and strong business outcomes. You will also help strengthen subcontract management practices by improving processes developing policies and promoting best practices. Through collaboration with teams such as program management procurement and compliance you will support the achievement of key business and financial objectives.

Finally you will contribute to strategic decision-making by analyzing evolving laws regulations and contract trends ensuring the organization remains compliant while positioning it for strong financial outcomes. Through effective negotiation risk mitigation strategies and innovative contract structuring you will support the achievement of key business objectives such as revenue growth operating income and cash flow performance.

As a subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of contract management with subcontractors and advanced project management expertise you will be responsible for supporting the negotiation of large-scale and complex projects essential to the organization with minimal operational oversight while having a measurable impact on business and functional results.
Provide advice and support to other company employees in their area of expertise. Act as a resource person by sharing your expertise and contributing to knowledge transfer to support the teams growth and effectiveness.
Manage large complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.

  • Review the general terms proposed or deviations submitted from the team to determine the contractual and legal implications and provide appropriate feedback to specialists with the aim of concluding agreements with our subcontractors.
  • Analyze new laws regulations and contractual trends to determine the potential impact on the goals and objectives of the business unit and offer recommendations to minimize business risks.
  • Analyze significant or unique contractual requirements special provisions and terms to ensure compliance with laws regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Draft contractual clauses and various correspondence documents for the administration of different projects
  • Explain interpret and gain cooperation on policies procedures and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in law or equivalent
  • Minimum of nine (9) years of experience in procurement supply chain or purchasing or equivalent (legal engineering project management contract management or subcontractors).
  • Demonstrate a strong team spirit and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Strong negotiations skills and knowledge of company legal terms and conditions.
  • Ability to negotiate complex documents and clearly analyze risk factors.
  • Ability to analyze a problem and recommend solutions.
  • Bilingual French and English (oral and written)
  • Business acumen and strong business writing skill.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Previous experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Contract administration experience with military international domestic and US Government.
  • Strong negotiations skills and experience including terms and conditions requirements pricing IP data rights etc.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively across functions and at all levels of the hierarchy.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment able to meet deadlines and expectations able to multi-task.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with theControlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
