Job description

Role: EHCP Keyworker – X4 Roles

Location: Tresham College – Multi-Site

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking four EHCP Keyworkers to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As an EHCP Keyworker, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • EHCP Provision & Statutory Compliance – Oversee high‑quality EHCP support, ensuring Section F provision is delivered, recorded and compliant, with a strong focus on learner progress and independence.
  • Annual Reviews & Local Authority Liaison – Lead and coordinate EHCP annual reviews, producing high‑quality documentation and working closely with Local Authorities, families and professionals to meet statutory requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring & Intervention – Track EHCP outcomes through robust systems, analyse data to identify risk, and work with curriculum teams to align support strategies and implement timely interventions.
  • Preparing for Adulthood & Mentoring – Design and deliver structured PfA programmes and targeted mentoring to support academic achievement, personal development, independence and positive progression.
  • Quality Assurance, Training & Partnerships – Contribute to QA through observations and audits, provide staff guidance on inclusive practice, maintain strong partnerships, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD standards.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Professional Foundation – Level 3 qualification (A Levels or equivalent), GCSE English and maths (A–C), with a graduate or vocational qualification in Education, Health, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • SEND & EHCP Expertise – Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2014), with experience supporting young people with SEND and EHCPs, including leading and contributing to annual review processes.
  • Communication & Reporting Skills – Highly effective communicator across written, verbal and digital formats, with the ability to produce clear, professional reports and lead meetings with parents/carers and professionals.
  • Organisation, Independence & Teamwork – Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, able to work independently and collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams to meet deadlines and outcomes.
  • Safeguarding, Flexibility & Professional Values – Committed to safeguarding and professional boundaries, flexible and adaptable in approach, engaged in ongoing CPD, and able to travel independently across college sites with access to a vehicle.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
