Property & Casualty Underwriter – New Business\n
Location – Bristol, 3 days per week in the office\n
Salary – Basic wage of £60,000+ (Depending on experience)\n

\nIPS Group are working with a leading, Global insurer to appoint a Property & Casualty Underwriter to join their New Business Bristol team.\n
\n
The Role
\n
\nYou will generate new Property & Casualty business in line with underwriting appetite, applying sound judgement and operating within agreed authority levels.\n
\n
\nYou will actively maximise trading opportunities by following a structured broker engagement approach, ensuring consistent interaction and development of key relationships. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering against regional financial targets, including top line growth, bottom line profitability, and expense management, by working to clearly defined KPIs.\n
\n
\nYou will build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key broker partners, enhancing the insurer’s presence in the local market and positioning yourself as a trusted point of contact- Strong negotiation skills will be essential as you work to secure new business and retain existing accounts, achieving favourable outcomes for both the client and the business.\n
\n
\nYou will also contribute to the wider team by sharing market trends and technical insights, ensuring the business remains competitive and informed.\n
\n
\nCollaboration will be a key part of the role, as you will work closely with internal stakeholders, including claims and surveyor teams, to deliver a seamless service and support effective decision-making across the business.\n

Skills & Experience
\n
\nThe ideal person for this role with have strong Underwriting experience ideally within commercial lines and with a focus on new business development, alongside a proven ability to build and maintain strong broker relationships.\n
\nYou will demonstrate a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding targets, supported by strong negotiation and sales capabilities.\n
\n
\nYou will be confident in assessing and pricing risk appropriately, balancing commercial opportunity with disciplined underwriting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.\n
\n
\nThe successful candidate will be well-organised, structured in their approach, and focused on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
