Located in Newtownabbey, Ben Madigan is a modern, purpose-built nursing home providing high-quality care in a welcoming environment. Our home offers 70 spacious single bedrooms, all with ensuite facilities, spread across two thoughtfully designed floors.

On the ground floor, the Hillview Unit supports 33 residents with General Nursing needs. Upstairs, the Bellview and Coastview Units provide specialist care for up to 37 older adults living with dementia.

Our team is made up of dedicated and compassionate professionals from diverse backgrounds and cultures — all working together to deliver outstanding, person-centred care.

The Role

This role is for 30 hours per week. The role of the Domestic Assistant is essential in our mission to provide excellent care. Supporting the Housekeeper with the environment of the Home, the Domestic Assistant will contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents. The Domestic Assistant will ensure that the Home is clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.

The Domestic Assistant role at Healthcare Ireland Group works closely with the care teams and residents, building trusting relationships to create a comfortable environment where our residents feel safe and cared for. From ensuring that rooms are clean to tidying communal areas, every task contributes to the value that we add to the lives of our residents.

About The Role

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the expected cleanliness and hygiene standards are achieved throughout the home
  • Cover domestic duties as assigned
  • Identify and report any damage, faults or other issues to maintenance or management
  • Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule
  • Use and store cleaning products in accordance to COSHH regulations
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager or Housekeeper.
