Title: General Catering Assistant

1 Full Time Position or 2 Part Time Positions 6 Month Temporary Contract

Location: BAEW - Rhoose Barry

Rate of Pay: 12.71 per hour

Contracted Hours: 5 out of 7 days with an opportunity for overtime

Job Description

Catering Assistant

Join a fast-paced, friendly team where every day brings something new!

We're looking for a proactive and energetic Catering Assistant to support our kitchen and front-of-house operations. If you love working with food, enjoy being part of a team, and thrive in a busy environment, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

Food Prep & Support

• Help chefs with basic food preparation-chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
• Assist in cooking and plating meals to high standards

Service & Presentation

• Serve food and beverages with a smile
• Set up and clear dining areas to create a welcoming atmosphere

Cleanliness & Hygiene

• Keep the kitchen spotless-wash dishes, clean surfaces, and maintain hygiene protocols
• Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use

Stock & Deliveries

• Receive and unpack deliveries
• Monitor stock levels and check expiry dates to keep everything fresh and safe

Kitchen Operations

• Report equipment faults and help maintain a smooth-running kitchen
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times

Customer Interaction

• Engage with customers in a friendly, helpful manner
• Handle feedback and assist at the till when needed
